What is the RCR | 313?

RCR = Run Carry Ruck. 313 = The distances of each event.

How it works

You don't win it by being the strongest. Or the fastest. You win it by being both.

RUN

Brad Pearson Running 3

You'll run for 3 miles... (unloaded)

CARRY

Dan Signorini Carry 3

then farmer carry for 1 mile... (men: 25lb ea hand | women: 20lb ea hand)

RUCK

Olivia Hudson Just Before Finish

and finish with a 3-mile ruck. (men: 50 lb total | women: 40 lb total)

⏱️ Full Race Timing + Event Splits

Your time is tracked through all three legs: Run → Carry → Ruck

No stopwatch. No guesswork. Just your results—automatically recorded.

WhY should you race the RCR | 313?

divisions

Men

Under 200 lbs | Over 200 lbs

Women

Under 150 lbs | Over 150 lbs

Weights don’t change by weight class—because the challenge self-balances:

  • Heavier = lower carry/ruck load as % of bodyweight
  • Lighter = advantage on the run

Everyone struggles somewhere. That’s by design.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We've got the A's to your Q's

When does the race start?

RCR | 313 uses wave starts so the course flows smoothly and everyone has space to move.

  • Waves are capped at 10 athletes.
  • The first wave kicks off at 8:00 AM, and waves go off every 10 minutes after.

📋 Official wave assignments will be announced the week of the race.

Do I have to train for this?

I mean, you can suffer through it without training ... but.

💡 If you want to show up confident and ready to crush it, Beyond Strength's Say YES Training programs (in-person and online) are built to prepare you for challenges exactly like this.

Are friends and family allowed come watch?

Absolutely — the more energy on race day, the better.

Spectators are welcome at the start/finish area and along sections of the course. We’ll make sure they can cheer you on without getting in the way of competitors.

💡 Tip: Tell them to bring a camera and a loud voice — great crowd energy makes a big difference when you’re grinding through the carry or the final ruck.

What if it rains?

We’re racing. Rain or shine.

A little weather just adds to the challenge — and we’re here for it.

The only reason we’d call it off is if conditions are deemed unsafe (severe storms, flooding, etc.).

If that happens, we’ll set a raincheck date and transfer all registrations.

Do I need to bring my own ruck and plates?

Yes — you’ll bring your own ruck and ruck plates.

Men: two 25 lb plates (50 lbs total)

Women: two 20 lb plates (40 lbs total)

💡 Don’t have plates? We’ll have a very limited supply for purchase or loan at the event — but they’re first-come, first-served, so plan to bring your own.

Is there any penalty for putting the weight down and resting?

No, this isn't the RCR | F5K ha! You can take breaks on the run and ruck, set down your plates during the carry, free of penalty, any time. BUT, the clock keeps ticking... so, KEEP GOING!

What if I can't finish?

You can.

That’s the short answer.

RCR | 313 is built so anyone can complete it — you can slow down, even set the bell down and rest.

But if something really happens where you can’t finish, you don’t have to push through. Safety is our top priority. Event staff will be on course to assist if needed.

💡 If you don’t complete all three legs, you won’t receive the finisher prizes — those are earned.

Can I switch weight classes after sign-up?

Yes — right up until the first wave starts. So, if you wake up heavier or lighter on race day, we've got you.

Once the first wave begins, divisions are locked in so we can focus on wave starts and timing.

One morning

Three disciplines. Seven miles. One finish line.

See you at the starting line.

NEVER MISS A STARTING LINE.
